A dry but windy day saw some great performances from the Clubs youngsters who fought for every point, but they came up short against a very strong Dacorum Team. Dacorum won with 735 points from Stevenage on 590, Bedford 482, Beds Lions 274 and Peterborough 169. With one team dropping out the Club’s officials and volunteers were kept busy with 6 events to Field Judge plus an additional 2 with Bedford at the beginning of the day. We also provided 4 Track judges and a Timekeeper. Luckily, we had brought extra Officials along to run Bedford’s Photo Finish system which wasn’t working so they all kindly transferred to Field and Track judging and set up EDM on long throws making everyone’s life easier!
There were A string wins for U15’s Hugo McFarlane-Cushing in the 200m 23.80, Aubrey Murray 1500m 4.34.7 and Thomas Paymar 80H 12.00. Thomas Redfern won the U17 400m 53.10, Tommy Cropley the 1500m 4.15.3, Ben Lewis the TJ 11m5, Bobby Pitman PV 3m30 and Edward Turner HT 23m97. The U17 boys also won the relay 46.90.
U15 Enid Whitten won the U15 Girls SP, DT and HT with 10m28, 22m69 and 29m18 respectively and new member Evie Lewis won the JT with a throw of 19m35. Fran Hart won the U17 Girls 800m 2.33.9 and Abigail Manson the 1500m 5.16.2.
