At the height of the holiday season 10 athletes, parents and officials set out for Walton for the last YDL Match of the season. Joined by three more team members at Walton, the team of 13 expected a difficult day, as their opposition were all from relatively local Clubs. It quickly became apparent this was not the case. In the first three events of the day the SNHAC/HAWCS youngsters scored 35 points out of possible 36. The deterioration in the weather failed to dampen spirits with athletes determined not to sit and shiver, but fill every possible space on the team to maximise points and keep warm. The final result - a resounding win by 111 points.
Team managers Libby and Tallulah were delighted with the team spirit, support for each other and both the match and league win. The composite team won two of their matches this season and were second in the other two, securing promotion to Division One next year.
Thanks must also go to all the officials, volunteers and parents who have helped at matches this year.
A full set of results is on the website.

Up against local rivals Herts Phoenix and St Albans along with Colchester, Harlow and Peterborough, the home team fought for every point, every place and in every event.
