Up against three of the largest Clubs in the east, eighty SNHAC/HAWCS members were in action at Stevenage on Sunday. The team was supported by 35 of the Clubs Officials, Volunteers, Committee Members were supported by willing parents who ensured things ran smoothly. Providing photo finish for an EYAL League Match (generally reserved for finals only) was much appreciated by all the Clubs.
Wins were difficult to come by and Club members fought hard for every point.
U13 Girl Riley McNally came third in the 100m 14.29 and Priscilla Tebenderana won the B in 14.46. U15 Rose Cook was fifth in the 100m 13.5 with Emily Rapley first B 13.19. There was a win in U17 pole vault competition from U15 Abigail Tong, clearing 2m10.
U15 Milan Snarskis won the Hammer 33m28. U17 Edward Turner won his hammer competition 28m31 and there were B string wins for Ted Starkins 400m and Jack Thompson 800m.
Performance of the day came from U17 Jamie Timms who finished second in a high-class Javelin competition with a throw of 49m24 breaking the Clubs age group Javelin record.
which had stood since 2015.
We finished fourth with Chelmsford winning the match.
Team managers Melissa and Libby were delighted with the team’s performance and are looking forward to the next match at Peterborough on the 2nd July.
