About

Stevenage and North Herts Athletic Club was formed in 1965 as an amalgamation of the North Herts and Stevenage clubs and celebrated its 50th birthday in 2015.

Stevenage and North Herts Athletic Club is a not for profit organisation which provides athletics development and competition for all (aged 9 to veteran) regardless of ability. We train 52 weeks of the year, four times a week. The club offers coaching in all aspects of Run, Jump and Throw and is fully inclusive with our own dedicated disability squad. We take part in all the athletic disciplines involved in track and field as well as cross-country and road running. We have a beginners’ running group too for adults who’ve never tried anything like this before.

SNHAC offers competition opportunities to all our members whatever their discipline and the coaching provided is aimed at encouraging all those participating to compete at the appropriate level. We are first and foremost a competitive athletics club and while we are happy to improve athlete’s general fitness and skill level for other sports those enjoying the training opportunities provided by the Club are expected to compete at the appropriate level in the relevant Leagues.

The club is organised entirely by volunteers.  We are able to provide coaching in all events at all levels but our ability to do that is dependent on the availability of volunteers. The club also offers opportunities for volunteers to become coaches, officials and become involved in all aspects of Club organisation and management. If you would like to help out even on an ad hoc basis, in any capacity, please get in touch with Steve Feely (Club Chairman) or Helen Pickard (Committee Secretary). Contact details are on the Officials and Team Manager tab on About.
